PUV operators should have terminals, Bautista says
As the traffic situation in the metro continues to get worse, the Philippine National Police – Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) proposed the 'no garage, no car' policy in order to solve the problem.
In a report by Philippine Star, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista said that he supports PNP-HPG's proposal to prohibit the sale of vehicles if the owners do not have garages.
Bautista reportedly said that one of the mistakes of Metro Manila's leaders was “allowing car owners without garages to park along inner streets.”
Bautista adds that public utility vehicles (PUVs) should also be covered by the said policy. He explained that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) “could refuse to issue franchises” to PUV operators without terminals.
