Plans to sell 60 units this year
Scania, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks and buses for heavy transport applications, has opened its showroom and service center in EDSA Balintawak, Quezon City.
The brand's 1,000 square meter showroom includes a display area for eight to ten trucks; three service bays; six tractor heads; tools room; stock room; a service reception area; and an assembly area. It also serves as the corporate offices for Scania.
BJ Mercantile, Inc., one of the country's top engine and truck distributor, is the official sales and services dealer partner of Scania. The manufacturer expressed that BJ Mercantile, Inc. is an ideal partner to represent the brand.
Currently on display are the G-Series trucks that includes the following variants: G360 (4x2/6x4); G360 (6x2/6x4 rigid); G410 (6x4); and G410 (8x4 rigid). The brand claims that these trucks are perfect for petroleum haulers and for those in the construction and mining business.
"We already have a lot of units available so interested customers don’t need to wait months to get their truck. We also offer any type of customization, from the size of the cabin, the color of the truck, to the fabric of the seats, but these will be on a pre-order basis," said BJ Mercantile, Inc. Vice President Leilani Lim-Tan.
Scania will also sell generators for industrial use with power ranging from 250 to 800 KVA by the end of March. Moreover, the company said that they would offer buses in mid-May.
Scania PH plans to expand to San Simon, Pampanga by the end of 2015 or early 2016 to cater customers in central and nothern Luzon. In addition, the company is targeting a sales volume of 60 units this year.
