Concept model may be final Corolla preview
Toyota unveiled its Yundong Shuangqing II concept car at the currently ongoing 2013 Auto Shanghai. Although its main purpose was to serve as a concept car for a Chinese-market hybrid vehicle, the Yudong Shuangqing II concept seems to hint of the next generation Corolla as it also shows a lot of similarities with the Furia Concept and the earlier leaked Corolla images.
With exterior dimensions of 4,620mm x 1,775mm x 1,450mm (LWH) and a wheelbase of 2,700mm, the Yundong Shuangqing II concept sits right in the compact sedan segment. The measurements reveals that if this is indeed the next Corolla/Altis sedan, it will be longer and wider than the outgoing Altis although it will be having a lower overall height. Its wheelbase will also be longer by 100mm.
Additionally, our sources has been hinting of a local launch of the next-generation Altis happening at the latter part of the year. This further confirms the previous reports of an North American debut that's set to happen by November this year.
