GWR for Largest Fuel Efficiency Lesson
Shell has just set a new Guinness World Record for the Largest Fuel Efficiency ever, combining the efforts of Shell's presence in 10 countries at the same time.
At 10:00AM British Summer Time, or 5:00PM Philippine Time, Shell conducted a simultaneous interactive fuel economy lesson. Participating cities included Allerod (Denmark), Bangkok (Thailand), Hamburg (Germany), Hong Kong (China), Istanbul (Turkey), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), London (United Kingdom) and Valkenburg (Netherlands).
Pilipinas Shell held the event in two cities: Manila and Iloilo. Along Bonifacio High Street in Taguig, Shell held the seminar for the public with various displays for visitors including cars that competed in the Eco Marathon and a FuelSave pledge wall.
For an afternoon, Shell educated attendees about the basics of fuel efficiency such as diligent maintenance, smooth driving, proper gearshifts and other tips for economical driving.
At the conclusion of the worldwide event, Shell announced that they had set the Guinness World Record with 3,243 participants from the 10 participating cities.
