Mahindra's Xylo sizes up the popular MPV's and AUV's in its segment
MPV's have become a common sight on Philippine roads. Most MPV's in the country evolved from the beloved AUV and seen as the ideal vehicle for family oriented Filipinos.
Wanting a piece of the MPV sales pie, Mahinda has now entered the Philippine market with a host of models, including the Xylo, the company's MPV. Like most of its competition, the Xylo uses a body on frame construction and equipped with a diesel engine. With that in mind, it puts the Xylo smack dab in the middle of the fierce MPV/AUV market. For this size up, we pit the Xylo against the popular models in its segment.
It would appear that passenger comfort was a priority for Mahindra's MPV. The Xylo may not be the longest car in its class but it trumps the competition by being the widest and tallest, a big plus for passenger comfort. It is also tied with the Chevrolet Orlando for the longest wheelbase in the group, a bonus when it comes to legroom.
