Motorists using the expressways leading to and from the south on the eve of both Christmas and New Year’s can expect a gift from the operators of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway and the Star Tollway.
Skyway O&M Corp., Manila Toll Expressway System Inc. and Star Tollway Corp. have all agreed to provide toll-free service to everyone taking these expressways starting at 10pm on December 24, 2014 until 6am of December 25 and then again starting at 10pm December 31 until 6am of January 1, 2015.
"The toll-free Christmas and New Year’s eves have been a tradition observed on the Skyway System, SLEX and Star Tollway for many years as our way of sharing holiday cheer and expressing our gratitude to our motoring patrons,” said Ado Diaz, head of the south tollway collection group.
As preparations for the holiday season continue, motorists are reminded that the volume of vehicular traffic will increase as Christmas approaches in anticipation of Filipinos travelling to their families in the provinces. To ensure everyone’s safety and convenience, drivers and vehicle owners are reminded to obey traffic rules and regulations while also ensuring that their vehicles are roadworthy for the long drive out of town.
For their part, the respective tollway operators have intensified their efforts in traffic management, security and safety of the tollway users starting December 21 until January 4, 2015.
In case of emergencies and for assistance, motorists may call the Skyway at 7767777, Mates at 0917-6877539 and STC at (043) 7567870 and 0927-5117827.
