Biggest gathering of the aftermarket industry
With four huge exhibit halls located on the SMX Building' ground floor totaling 9,130 square meters, MAS 2007 organizers said that they have integrated to the event four exciting after market interests that will include the Custom Car Show, Sporting Truck Show and the 1st Mobile Electronics and Technology Show that promise a four-day heart pumping activities for participants and spectators.
Formerly named as the Custom Car Show and Sport Truck Show that attracted more than 40,000 car and truck enthusiasts for this annual event that ran for 13 years at the SM Megamall, Sophie Delos Santos, president of Tradeshow International (event organizer), expressed belief that the MAS 2007 will definitely surpass the record of its predecessor considering that the event venue is strategically organized and with bigger space.
"This event (MAS 2007) promises to be very exciting event because it will be a four-in-one thing. It will be fully loaded of exciting car and truck displays, high-tech audio system and an impressive array of after sales automotive products that are every Filipino motoring enthusiast's weakness," Delos Santos said.
Aside from the Custom Car show, Trade Show International also handles the bi-annual event Defense and Sporting Arms Show and the very successful Philippine International Motor Show initiated by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) last July.
Tradeshow International is also in charge of the annual Trans Sport Show at the SM Trade Hall in SM Megamall.
"MAS 2007 is envisioned to be a showcase of the Philippine's best in car tuning and manufacturing. Years of conducting local competitors for this market have developed skilled craftsmen in this field. The nationwide interest in automotive aftermarket accessories was brought about not only by these competitions but also by the organization of several motorsports events like circuit racing, rallying, karting, drifting among others," she added.
As member of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), TSI said that their objective is to strengthen the automotive aftermarket industry in Southeast Asia by providing international business opportunities among its members and prospective members in the show.
In fact, at least four international automotive organizations are now functioning as support and consulting agencies to ensure the success of the MAS 2007 and they include the Japan Automotive Recycling Association, SPN Co. Ltd. Japan, International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA) and the Automobile Association of the Philippines.
On the other hand, the Mobile Electronics and Technology Show will gather distributors and dealers of audio and video products, equipment and services as well as the best mobile installers in the country vying for top awards in the sound competitions organized by IASCA.
"Filipino motoring enthusiasts are natural born audiophiles," Delos Santos adds.
Proud of their new home, Sophie claimed that the SMX Convention Center is a perfect venue for motoring events since it features a nine-meter high ceiling for maximum flexibility for multi-level booth modules.
The SMX can likewise accommodate huge equipment and machinery because its floors were designed to load capacity of 250 lbs per square foot, allowing the entry of big trucks into the event area.
The SMX building has other amenities like telephone services and wireless internet. For security reasons, the facility is also equipped with closed circuit television monitors in strategic locations.
Delos Santos said that MAS event highlights include competitions on custom cars, sport trucks and motor bikes; IASCA Sound Challenge; Ultimate Tuner Award; Custom Vehicle Design Competition; Resto-Mod Displays of Classic and Vintage Cars and Bikes; Milestones in World Motor Sports Exhibition; MAS Chill Out Sessions; Car Club Tailgate Party; Automobilia; seminars;work shops; and out door races.
