Closure to give way to much needed rehabilitation work by public works department
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is closing the southbound Magallanes Flyover coming from Manila along South Superhighway to traffic from August 8 to 17, 2014 to give way for the agency's Magallanes Interchange Rehabilitation Project. The complete rehabilitation of the interchange is expected to be completed by December 2014.
An earlier announcement of the pending 10-day closure of the said bridge was made by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) last month which was waiting for a go-signal from the City of Makati to open concrete perimeter walls blocking access to ground level service roads of the said interchange.
The agencies are advising all affected vehicles to take the service road during the 10-day closure. They are likewise asking for the public's cooperation and understanding.
Update from the MMDA:
"For vehicles coming from Manila to Cubao, in light of the road closure at the Magallanes Flyover along South Super Highway SB, please take service road, turn to Magallanes Village, then take Magallanes ramp via EDSA."
