Facelift, limited Competition Sport version among new options for M4 coupe
Our spied have yet again spotted the 2017 BMW M4 update, this time with even less camo. It appears BMW's M division is putting more work into their performance coupe apart from the expected LCI refresh.
While the red M4 spotted in the photo is the LCI that set to make its debut likely very soon, the white one bears a more aggressive profile – one that’s worth taking a look at. A very reliable source has indeed confirmed a "Competition Package" which be made available to both the M3 and M4 similar to the limited to 60 units Competition Sport (CS) version released exclusively for the Spanish market. The new Competition Package slots in between the standard M4 and the top-range track-ready GTS version.
The front end of the white prototype has a lip on its spoiler, while its hood looks more sculpted and has air outlets similar to that of the CSL. The wheels appear staggered, with the fronts wearing 19 inch wheels and the rears at 20 inches. A larger duckbill-style trunk spoiler can be sighted at the rear despite being camouflaged as well.
All these changes indicate that the white M4 prototype isn’t just part of the LCI package and may likely be a new model on its own. There have also been rumors of a CSL version coming with the updated 2017 M4, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Power figures have yet to be disclosed, but this M4 may find itself in between the standard 400PS mark and the GTS' 500PS figure with some chassis mods to match the increased performance as well.
