Spied: Fourth-gen Ford Focus spotted with production body image

Ford prepares their all-new C-Segment contender

Ford is continuing their new car onslaught following debuts of all-new models. Following the launch of the fully redesigned Expedition, GT and Fiesta, the American automaker now shifts their attention to their C-Segment contender, the Focus.

The last time the all-new Focus was spotted, it was merely a test mule. This time around, our spies sent us photos that show its production body. Gone are the faux panels from the current Focus but it is still heavily disguised. Despite that, it now paints a slightly clearer picture of what we can expect for the next-gen Focus.

At the front, it appears that Ford is continuing their hexagonal grill design seen in the current Focus. Looking at the corners of the grill suggests this. The headlights, now a different shape, is reminiscent of the recently launched Fiesta. Details of the front bumper are still hidden but the camouflage strip near the edge of the hood hints a large one-piece design.

With the false panel no longer attached to the car, there is now a better look of the all-new Focus' roofline. It is rounded in shape and is complemented by what appears to be an integrated tailgate spoiler. The window line meanwhile sweeps upwards and is complemented by defined shoulder lines. Apart from a short overhang and a more upright rear windshield, little detail is shown at the rear as it still sports false tail lights and a thick cover on the tailgate.

As for engines, it is difficult to expect the lineup as Ford has just introduced a new line of EcoBoost powertrains. It is likely that it may get some of the engines used in the Fiesta, particularly the 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter, inline-three turbocharged mills. A line of TDCI diesels will join the range but it is also unknown which particular ones will be utilized for the next-gen Focus.
