Lightened Huracan laps the Nurburgring

The folks at Sant'Agata have a busy year ahead of them. Not only is the Aventador getting an update, the Huracan will also be receiving the Superleggera treatment. In Lamborghini speak, Superleggera models are lightened, track-oriented models with a bit more power.

Seen here in heavy camouflage, it hints that the Huracan Superleggera has enough visual differences to separate it from the standard models. The bumpers have been covered, suggesting that it has been tweaked for enhanced aerodynamics. There are also air outlets on top of the front fenders for extra downforce.

On to its side, it is mostly carried over but looking through the cover and one will see new air intakes to aid in cooling. At the back, the rear bumper is noticeably different when put side by side with the LP 610-4 and LP 580-2. The exhaust pipes have been moved up to make way for a different diffuser package. It is then topped off by a rear wing.

Being a Superleggera model, expect a more extensive use of carbon fiber to cut weight even further. Other weight saving measures may include the reduction of sound deadening materials, deletion of power adjustable seats, lighter wheels and thinner windows. The Huracan Superleggera may also come with an interior unique to the model.

Apart from extensive weight saving measures and enhanced aerodynamics and cooling, it is likely that the Huracan Superleggera may get a power upgrade as well. Possible upgrades include enhanced ECU, upgraded intake manifold and new exhaust system, same as its predecessor, the Gallardo Superleggera.
