Mild tweaks for 2018 C-Class
Mercedes-Benz is hard at work with new and updated models being released. Following the spy shots on the S-Class, it's now the turn of the C-Class to get a minor model update.
Slated for the 2018 model year, the revamped C-Class gets tweaked panels and more tech. Seen here in both sedan and wagon guises, it gets reshaped headlights, resembling those on the bigger E-Class. Also new are the rear bumpers which the manufacturers have hidden with a false panel.
Moving to its side, it appears to have been carried over from the current model. Another carryover is the rear section of the sedan and wagon. Do expect new wheel designs when the car hits production in two years time.
Inside, Mercedes-Benz covered up the dash, suggesting that changes have been made for this model update. It now gets a touchpad right under the dial for the infotainment/sat nav where the COMAND touch panel was before. It also appeals like the 2018 C-Class will get a new screen between the tachometer and speedometer. Also new is the steering wheel, similar to the facelifted Mercedes S-Class which was spotted before.
As for engines, expect the 4-cylinders to be carried over from the current lineup but may feature more emission control for a cleaner burn. At the moment, the C-Class offers a full range of turbocharged gas in four or six-cylinder guises, along with diesel engines. It is also possible that the updated C-Class may get the new inline-six engine which the automaker is currently developing.
