Land Rover continues to expand their lineup following the debut of the smaller Discovery Sport. This time, the Range Rover Sport will soon get a new body style in the form of a sleeker coupe.

First spotted back in July 2016, a heavily camouflaged test car made rounds in the Nurburgring for chassis development. In the latest batch of photos sent by our spies, the Range Rover Sport Coupe is now undergoing extreme weather testing in the snow. Under the wraps are classic and modern Range Rover styling cues such as the clam shell hood, slim headlights and slim tail lights.

Differences between the standard Range Rover Sport and the coupe can be seen from the B-pillar and back. Whereas the current Range Rover Sport has a more formal and upright roofline, the Coupe tapers towards the smaller rear windshield. Sources claim that the Range Rover Sport Coupe will have a slightly tweaked front fascia to further separate it from its more upright sibling. While there are no photos of the interior just yet, expect the Coupe to have a similar dashboard layout.

Despite the Coupe nomenclature, the Range Rover Sport Coupe will be a five door model, as seen by its rear window and door handles. It is likely that the Coupe will inherit the Range Rover Sport's variant selection, ranging from the base SE to the high performance SVR. Once in production, the latest addition in the Land Rover lineup will go against the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class.

As for engines, the lineup has yet to be confirmed. However, to expect it to be carried over from the current Range Rover Sport. The base engine is a 2.0 liter, four-cylinder turbodiesel, followed by a 3.0 liter V6 turbodiesel in three power options. For gas engines, there is a 3.0 liter V6, a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 and for the SVR, a 542 PS supercharged V8.
