Meaner and still as green, Lexus CT 200h shows up looking better than ever in China
The 2014 Lexus CT 200h was on display at the 2013 Guangzhou Motor Show premiere in China with all-new written all over it.
Finally getting the spindle grille, the center has been adjusted to create an aggressive, three-dimensional form and a low front profile for a sporty look.
It now sits on newly developed, 10-spoke, 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels and the rear gets a new bumper design featuring a more horizontal structure with L-shaped reflector housings incorporated at the bottom corners.
Inside, the CT 200h also gets upgraded to offer a higher level of visual and tactile quality.
It now comes with a 4.2-inch Optitron TFT (Thin Film Transistor) instrument panel screen which can be linked to the multimedia system and controlled via steering wheel-mounted switches. The center screen is now fixed and thinner and the second generation Remote Touch Interface (RTI) features a new, more user-friendly push entry control switch.
The sound quality of the Lexus audio system has been enhanced adopting the world’s first bamboo loudspeaker technology. Bamboo fiber, plant opal and charcoal are combined in an injection molding process to create the industry’s thinnest loudspeaker diagram.
A new inlet duct design, a Lexus hybrid first, along with more than 94 separate measures that have been adopted to further reduce NVH providing a high level of quietness.
This updated version also offers an F SPORT model with an outstanding exterior.
It sports an exclusive roof spoiler with cut-outs to provide additional downforce for even greater grip and stability, sport-tuned coil spring settings and optimized front/rear roll rigidity distribution to further enhance its sporting driving dynamics.
Lexus Manila has not confirmed a definite release date but hinted that it will be in the dealership very soon.
