It's not going to be just one generation
The Subaru BRZ, Toyota 86 and Scion FR-S will live on. Yasayuki Yoshinaga, President of Subaru’s parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., has confirmed that there will be a second generation of the Subaru BRZ.
"It's not going to be just one generation," Yoshinaga said.
Two weeks ago, an Australian website, drive.com.au, published a report that the Subaru BRZ could not have a second generation model if Toyota decides to deepen its partnership or collaboration with BMW.
Setting the record straight, Yoshinaga said that Toyota and Fuji Heavy will develop on a successor to the current BRZ model, which debuted in 2012. His statement confirms that the BRZ won't be axed at the end of its showroom cycle.
