Records broken for the Palm Challenge Provincial leg
Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributor of Subaru automobiles in the Philippines completed the Cebu and Davao rounds for the Subaru Palm Challenge 2015. The nationwide search for the 10 participants will represent the Philippines in the regional finals in Singapore. The provincial rounds of the challenge was held last August 8 at Ayala Center, Cebu City and August 15 at SM Lanang Premier. 120 Cebuanos and 120 Davaoenos qualified for the Cebu and Davao rounds.
This year’s Cebu Leg winner is Mr. Donn Michael Yap, a 25-year old Virtual Assistant for Financial Advisers and also last year’s winner. Yap posted a time of 12 hours, 55 minutes and 45 seconds, beating his previous record of 12 hours 51 minutes and 10 seconds. Winning the Davao leg is 43-year old Furniture Carpenter, Mr. Gilbert Hamo-ay. Hamo-ay posted a time of 13 hours 7 minutes and 3 seconds, creating a new record for Davaoenos.
Eight other challengers from Manila will complete the 10-man Philippine team on September 5, to be held in Bonifacio High Street. The team will be competing against 100 participants from the ASEAN region at the Subaru Challenge 2015 Regional Finals in Singapore.
For the top 10 finishers for each leg, they will win exclusive Subaru merchandise, Php 10,000 for the top 9 challengers per leg and Php 20,000 for the leg winner. The Philippine representatives will also enjoy an all-expense paid trip to Singapore where they will compete for a brand new Subaru Forester 2.0i-L worth Php 1,398,000.
Registration is still open for the last and final leg in Manila. Interested participants may choose to download their forms or grab a copy of the registration form and submit these at Subaru showrooms nationwide – Greenhills, Bonifacio Global City, Manila Bay, Alabang and Batangas.
