Combined manpower to help address tollway traffic for ber months

Skyway O&M Corporation (SOMCO) and the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) have signed the memorandum of agreement (MoA) to jointly implement measures for traffic management. The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by SOMCO president Manuel Bonoan and PNP-HPG director Antonio Gardiola, Jr.

At the moment, the South Metro Manila Skyway (SMMS) system, the operational portion of the integrated NAIA Expressway and the stretch of Osmeña Highway where the Skyway Stage 3 construction is in progress. With SOMCO and PNP-HPG working together, the two agencies will be combining manpower to ease traffic. The agreement provides, among others, implementation of the Amorsolo traffic management scheme in Makati Central Business District, measures to deal with erring motorists and address road incidents within SOMCO’s tollway facilities and deployment of PNP-HPG traffic officers along traffic chokepoints.

The areas of responsibility covers Buendia, Amorsolo, Bicutan and Sucat. The agreement is aimed to provide motorists with safe and efficient road networks during the heavy traffic “Ber”months.
