Toyota Motor Philippines once again scorched the benchmarks as the best automotive brand in the country for 2003 and topped all categories in the market, based on the latest figures from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI). The company outsold its competitors in all categories in the market by topping the passenger car and commercial vehicle categories, as well as overall sales for the second year in a row. Toyota also posted a 39-percent market share making the highest ever achieved by any manufacturer since 1994. Sales of both passenger car and commercial vehicle line-up were boosted with the introduction of new models and aggresstive marketing campaigns. TMP also marks its 13th year as the market leader since it started its operations in 1988.

With the perfect mood set, Toyota also took the opportunity to launch the updated version of its best selling compact sedan Corolla Altis. The 2004 Altis boasts of boldly improved exterior and interior features designed to maximize the luxurious and sporty performance of the car.

A restyled front end featuring new multi-reflector headlamps and a redesigned front grille with the new gradient mesh with chrome fins. Finishing off the front end is a new bumper with foglamps. A first in its class and perhaps a first in the country as well is the Light Emitting Diode (LED) rear combination lamps. Finshing off the styling upgrades is a new 15-inch alloy wheel design.

For safety and trouble-free parking, the Altis now comes equipped with corner and back-up sensors. As an added feature are retractable side mirrors for tight spots.

Interior upgrades come in a bundle starting with leather seats, and electric driver's seat adjustable in eight positions at the push of a button. A newly styled wood trim featuring a darker shade further heightens the luxury of the car making it ooze with elegance.

All these new features can be found in the 1.8G A/T variant of the 2004 Corolla Altis at an introductory price of Php899,000. Other variants are the 1.8E at Php848,000, 1.6E M/T, A/T at Php735,000 and Php770,000 respectively, and 1.6J M/T at Php670,000.
