Still the tip of TMP's iceberg for 2012
It's only March, and yet Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation, the country's number one carmaker, has already launched their 4th and 5th new models with the 2012 Land Cruiser 200 and the 2012 Yaris.
The 2012 LC200 and Yaris are refreshed versions of the current generation model, now sporting a redesigned exterior and added features. The Land Cruiser gets a boxier look, and now gets even enhanced off road capabilities thanks to the addition of Toyota's Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, or KDSS. The LC200 remains powered by Toyota's V8 twin turbo diesel that produces 232 horsepower and 615 Newton meters of torque.
The Yaris, on the other hand, gets cosmetic updates both inside and out. New front and rear bumpers, a new mesh grille, and a new pair of headlamps and LED headlamps are some of the upgrades to the new Yaris. Inside, the new Yaris gets sportier touches with a new flat bottom steering wheel while the fabric seats get new red stitching.
In January, Toyota launched the all new Avanza, replacing the first generation model that rose to prominence in 2006. Soon after, Toyota also launched the Prius C and just last month, Toyota took the wraps off the updated version of the country's 2nd best selling vehicle, the Innova.
The Philippines' number one carmaker has just secured their 10th Triple Crown, and with more models due for launch this year such as (but possibly not limited to) the all new Camry and the brand's latest sportscar, the 86, it seems Toyota is going full speed for number 11.
