TMP leads the way again
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has begun 2014 with a bang, selling 7,062 units in January. TMP said they had a 50 percent increase in comparison with its sales last January 2013 wherein they managed to sell 4,716 units.
This strong sales performance can be attributed to TMP’s Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) models like the Innova and Vios as well as its other models. In the recent CAMPI report, TMP garnered 45 percent share of the automotive market. Led by the country’s best selling model, Vios continues to play a crucial role in maintaining TMP’s hold on the number one spot in the Passenger Car segment and overall sales. In the CV segment, Fortuner had its highest sales since its introduction with 1,623 units sold in a single month.
“I am pleased to announce that TMP started the year strong in terms of sales. Coming from an encouraging performance last month, we are optimistic that demand will continue to be favorable because of positive economic outlook and new model introductions. Just after the successful launch of the All-New Corolla Altis last January, this month, TMP will be launching two new models that are expected to boost our sales even further,” said TMP President Mr. Michinobu Sugata.
