New compact car will be the European-look that debuted in Turkey
At a luncheon today with Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation, the country's number one automaker has announced the launch date for the next generation Corolla Altis: January 15, 2014.
The all-new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis that the company will be launching will be based on the same look as the one that debuted in Turkey earlier this year.
No official details as to the specs and pricing of the car are available as of yet, though we know the Altis will be imported from Thailand as well.
Over-eager Toyota dealer sales reps have however leaked out variants, colors and pricing for the 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis. It will come with two engine options; a 2.0-liter and 1.6-liter. The 2.0-liter will fitted to a 7-speed CVT, while the 1.6-liter variants will either have a 7-speed CVT of 6-speed manual transmission.
The colors available will be: Dark Gray Mica Metallic, Dark Brown, Attitude Black, Themalyte, Freedom White, Red Mica Metallic and White Pearl.
2.0V 7-speed CVT Php 1,201,000
1.6V 7-speed CVT Php 999,000
1.6G 7-speed CVT Php 935,000
1.6G 6-speed M/T Php 879,000
1.6E 6-speed M/T Php 836,000
We just had to ask Toyota executives about the upcoming Agya/Wigo, to which one of them stated (with a smile): “One thing at a time.”
Needless to say, Toyota is going to open 2014 on a high.
