Strengthens market share to 40%
Based on the most recent CAMPI report, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) continues to widen its lead as the no. 1 automotive company in the Philippines for the month of June. Tallying its highest June sales since the start of its operations in 1989, TMP registered total sales of 5,893 units for the month. Based on last year's June sales, Toyota has further increased its sales to 29, 400 units, strengthening its market share to 40%. Compared to last year’s total sales performance for the 1st semester, the manufacturer experienced a growth rate of 18%.
During this record breaking run, TMP’s best selling model, the Vios proved to be a valuable asset in their hold on the no. 1 spot in the passenger car segment and overall sales recording a total of 1, 997 units and an increased market share of 47% for the month. Meanwhile in the commercial vehicle segment, Toyota continues to maintain its top spot for the month of June due to the strong performance of its Innova, Avanza, and Fortuner models. Because of this, TMP has garnered 41% of the segment in June.
