DPWH to fix EDSA southbound; 55,000 fans to head to Philippine Arena on Saturaday
Motorists should be warned of various activities that may cause traffic this weekend, October 23 to 26, 2015.
Starting tonight 11PM, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be laying asphalt on parts of the southbound lane of EDSA between Estrella and Buendia Avenue, one lane at a time. Work will be done throughout the weekend until 5AM on Monday October 26, 2015.
On the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is reminding motorists of the upcoming event/concert of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza on Saturday, October 24, 2015. This is the duo behind the highly popular sensation, ‘Aldub’ and around 55,000 people are expected to attend, based on ticket sales.
The MMDA will deploy additional personnel at the Mindanao and Balintawak entry and exit points in order to help smooth the flow of traffic on Saturday.
NLEX management will open up counterflow lanes and will also beef up personnel on site as they expect attendees to arrive as early as 8AM.
Due to these activities, motorists are advised to plan ahead and prepare alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
