As part of the measures to being devised to alleviate traffic in Metro Manila and in early preparation for the arrival of the delegates participating in the upcoming Asia Pacific Economic Conference (APEC), the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will start implementing truck ban hours again starting September 15.
Based on MMDA Resolution No. 3, s. 2015, there will be a total truck ban between the hours of 6AM-10AM and 5PM-10PM everyday except Sundays and Holidays on all roads of Metro Manila, except along two ‘Northern Truck Routes’ where trucks are allowed to pass whatever time of day.
On EDSA and in the three major business districts of Makati, Ortigas and Bonifacio Global City, a total truck ban, regardless of weight, shall be implemented Monday to Sunday.
Only trucks carrying perishable items and agricultural cargo shall be exempt from this resolution.
Last week the MMDA also banned provincial buses southbound on EDSA during the morning rush hour of 6AM-9AM.
