Honda's compact car challenger gets a facelift
The 2014 Honda Civic gets a facelift at the 35th Bangkok International Motor Show. Honda gives the Civic a facelift, following the footsteps of the US market model which received a similar update in reaction to weak sales. With the ASEAN update, we can declare with certain that it will be released in the Philippine market soon.
The latest iteration of the Civic follows the basic design of the current model with a new honeycomb front grill and chrome element going under the Japanese automaker's logo. The central air intake vents now have chrome highlights and the wheels come with a new design. It also has a new set of body kit for the Modulo version in reaction to the aggressively styled top-spec Toyota Corolla Altis.
For Thailand, the interior is equipped with a new seven-inch touchscreen head unit. It also features an HDMI port and has a multi-angle rear view camera.
The powerplants are carried over from the pre-facelifted versions. The 2014 Honda Civic will be powered by a 1.8 liter SOHC i-VTEC engine that can deliver 141PS with 174 Nm of torque or a 2.0 liter SOHC i-VTEC engine that can produce 155PS with 190 Nm of torque.
