New findings in the recall investigation by NASA engineers finds no evidence of design flaws
NASA engineers found no evidence of design flaws in the Toyota Electronic Throttle Control System Intelligent (ETSC-i) responsible for creating large relative throttle valve opening resulting in unintended acceleration.
While Toyota vehicles sold in the Philippines were not affected in the said recalls, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) imbibes valuable lessons learned from this incident. "Safety and quality continue to be our utmost priority. Although the findings from the US study gives assurance to our customers that Toyota vehicles are safe to drive, we at TMP will continue to listen to our customers' voice and ensure that stringent safety standards are in place to provide safe and reliable vehicles," expressed TMP Executive Vice President Yuji Goto.
