Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has just unveiled the Amarok Power Concept at this year’s Wörthersee Festival in Austria. A 5.25-meter long pick-up that has been transformed into a ‘party on four wheels’ by installing a removable 5,000-watt sound system on the bed while still leaving it with the versatility for cargo and equipment necessary to keep the party going.
The Amarok Power Concept has ‘party’ written on it inside and out with a ‘richly varied interplay of metallic, high-gloss and matt surfaces: deep 'Dynamic grey' metallic paint underscores for the one part the technical, cool look, while the use of micro glass flakes intensifies the sheen.’ The wing mirror covers and the 22-inch alloy wheels have a ‘Gunmetal’ finish with a contrasting orange on the door, sills and the brake calipers.
Chrome inserts highlight the bi-xenon headlights and the twin tail pipes while a combination of black and orange make for a very enticing interior.
Designed to be driven by the DJ, it will obviously boasts of nothing but the best in DJ equipment. It will us an Allen & Heath Xone:92, Pioneer CDJ900NXS units and VOID ACOUSTICS Impulse 3t speakers with VOID ACOUSTICS Stasys Xair subwoofer, VOID ACOUSTICS mycro 6 loudspeakers powered by amplifiers from MC².
All these, when assembled only use up the 3.5 square meters of the cargo bed and appears only as a 'compact cube' leaving space for the complete PA system.
It is powered by a 3.0 V6 TDI with 268HP and 600Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed AT with a maximum speed of 210 km/h and a 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
