The sedan and wagon duo receive sport-oriented touches for improved handling
After introducing the R-Design kit for the XC90 last year, Volvo follows up the sporty trim’s lineup by now making it available for both the S90 sedan and V90 wagon. The “performance-inspired” kit brings with it a sportier chassis setup that will allow both midsize models to provide an “energetic, road-hugging drive”.
Changes that the R-Design kit brings to the midsize duo predominantly include a sporty but rather subdued body kit. Its front fascia receives a slight tweak by having the foglamps integrated into the front spoiler and the grill bearing a slightly different appearance. Piano black trim can be found front and rear of the vehicles, with 5-spoke diamond cut matte wheels matching the contrasting trim pieces.
The interior of the R-Design specced Volvos see newly decorated trim pieces as well as a different pedal set. Sporty contouring seats as well as an R-Design exclusive steering wheel ensure that the driver is in place and is not holding onto an ordinary Volvo. Lastly, new floor mats and a new illumination package find their way into the R-Design models.
While Volvo is currently accepting orders for the R-Design S90 and V90, no details on pricing have yet to surface.
