Black Eyed Peas singer claims West Coast Customs-built DeLorean as his own
Black Eyed Peas singer and entrepreneur Will.I.Am went on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" last week and shared his new car building business which he claims will bring jobs to the ghetto where he came from. To be established in East Los Angeles, the new company will be called IAMAUTO, named after himself; similar to his I.am clothing label. He showed a picture on the show of an out-of-this-world looking sports coupe which he claims will be the first model of his Chrysler-based vehicle.
From what we understand, the "big technology geek and freak" singer claims he sourced a car and a bunch of parts from Chrysler, built a new bodyshell, customized the interior and added a Beats by Dr. Dre audio system. Interestingly, he also claimed the vehicle will be a street legal vehicle with working airbags. Towards the end of the interview, the singer offered Leno, a hardcore car enthusiast to test drive the vehicle of which the latter gladly obliged to do so.
Intrigued with the news, we researched a bit more and found that the car he showed was the customized DMC De Lorean built by West Coast Customs. We later found a deleted blog entry on West Coast Customs' website, but luckily we chanced upon this cached version on Google. So what do you think of IAMAUTO?
