Major Asian auto aftermarket convergence held in Bangkok
The Automotive Aftermarket International Trade Fair (AAITF) held its inaugural event in Bangkok, Thailand with the theme "Driving the Evolution of the Automotive Aftermarket" at the Impact Forum. For three days, AAITF Bangkok 2015 attracted over 150 local and international automotive brands. Participating companies showcased their latest products and innovations for the evolving aftermarket industry.
AAITF debuted in 2006 in Shenzhen, China, with the objective of being the largest automotive aftermarket event in the region, serving as an efficient global trade platform for the Chinese automotive aftermarket industry. The event has expanded to a 120,000 square-meter floor space housing 3500 brand exhibitors from 48 countries for its 11th edition this year.
Held in conjunction with the Thailand International Motor Expo, an annual event held for over 30 years, the strong backbone of the first AAITF tilt makes a strong foundation for years to come. This year’s event was participated in by major international brands like Bosch, Autoglym, Meguiars, Rupes S.p.A., Rust-Oleum, Lintec, inCareBite, Autovox, Takata, and 3K Battery.
Local developer, Drivebot, introduced their new innovative product app-based vehicle monitoring system, which communicates via Bluetooth with an OBD-II (on-board diagnostics) module connected to your car. The device and app combo was developed by 5 fellow engineers with experience in the automotive, computer and design fields.
An assortment of modified and custom cars, 4x4s and motorcycles were also on display to highlight the possibilities of the aftermarket industry.
Apart from the exhibits, industry experts also gave seminars and workshops on automotive technology advancements and opportunities for the aftermarket.
Organizers consider the event as a successful start and look forward to growth for succeeding events in years ahead.
