As part of its ten years of service in the country, Robert Bosch, Inc. recently launched three new entities that are sure to attract customers the Bosch Car Service Concept and the "Cool Gadgets" and "Rainy Day" promos.

The Bosch Car Service Concept is Robert Bosch, Inc.'s (Bosch's) effort to streamline its comprehensive service strategy and improve services in general. On the other hand, the "Cool Gadgets" and "Rainy Day" promos are first-ever end-user promos for sparkplug and wiper buyers as a token of gratitude for Bosch's ten years of Philippine success.

Parts and bytes under one roof

The Bosch Car Service Concept brings together everything that is needed to carry out maintenance, testing, diagnosis and repair, such as systems know-how, technical information, test devices and genuine spare parts, to name a few. The said concept is part of a global initiative to identify and accredit workshops and garages that could offer one-stop service, regardless of make or model. "Vehicle servicing has become more complicated and technical due to the nature of the components and systems now fitted into most cars. Many car problems can no longer be solved simply by neighborhood mechanics, thus the need for Bosch Car Service. The concept is our response to the growing necessity for vehicle diagnostics and repair service that would match increasingly complex vehicle systems," said Bosch automotive aftermarket division general manager Antonio Leonardo.

Bosch product supervisor Michael Tengonciang said that the concept rose from repeated dialogues with customers who were looking for reputable and technologically-prepared auto repair/diagnostic shops. He added that customers were looking for the following: 1) Modern diagnostic tools; 2) Better information technology systems; 3) Better information about the unique selling points (USPs) between products to avoid price issues; 4) Brand portfolio; 5) Original equipment (OE) quality equipment support; and 6) Auto shops with repeat business/loyalty.

One prominent feature of the said concept is its vehicle system analysis technology, which can read and diagnose problems with a vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU), its emissions, electronic fuel injection (EFI) system and/or common rail diesel injection (CRDi) performance. "It can also read engines which have been modified, provided there is input from the owner about the modifications and the engine itself," said Mr. Tengonciang.

In the Philippines, Bosch claimed that there are 65 workshops (including 13 in Mindanao, 17 in the Visayas region and 25 in Metro Manila) that carry the Bosch Car Service Concept, a huge bump up from the initial 29 accredited workshops when the concept was first started in 2004. "The response has been very overwhelming because we provide technical support and training, as well as marketing and promotions. Motorists, for their part, are assured of high quality services and authentic Bosch spare parts when they take their vehicles to these Bosch-accredited shops," said Mr. Leonardo.

Rainy days and gadget craze

Bosch also launched its first-ever end-user promos for sparkplug and wiper buyers as a token of gratitude for Bosch's ten years of Philippine success. The "Rainy Days" promo features the opportunity to win a Honda Wave 125cc motorcycle, a Samsung YEPP YP53 512MB MP3 player/FM tuner, a 1GB iPod Shuffle or a Sony Discman. For every purchase of Bosch wiper blades (one set or one piece) with the original packaging, customers can automatically join the raffle by writing one's complete name/age/birthday/address/signature/telephone number/cellphone number/email address/dealer partner (auto supply shop where the product was purchased, along with the dealer's address and contact number) at the back of the original packaging. These entries can be submitted to any Bosch Car Service Workshops, selected Bosch dealers or auto supply shops nationwide.

There will be two draws for the "Rainy Days" promo October 15, 2005 (deadline for entries is October 5, 2005) and December 15, 2005 (deadline for entries is December 9, 2005).

The "Cool Gadgets" promo features the opportunity to win the same prizes and the same draw dates and deadline for entries, but with different requirements. A customer who purchases a box or a blister pack of Bosch spark plugs can automatically join the raffle by writing one's complete name/age/birthday/address/signature/telephone number/cellphone number/email address/dealer partner (auto supply shop where the product was purchased, along with the dealer's address and contact number) at the back of the original packaging. These entries can be submitted to any Bosch Car Service Workshops, selected Bosch dealers or auto supply shops nationwide.
