I read an ad about customized cams recently. Just what do these do to the car? How does modified cams help a car?

Camshafts are the mechanical brains of the engine. A modified cam profile makes the duration of the valve opening longer or the lift of the valve higher meaning more air and more fuel thus add more power, but it usually sacrifices a little bit driveability. Thanks for writing
