Problem with wheel offset

Help!, I really need solution on how to mount my 17" rims. I have consulted other forums but until now I still can't find any working solutions. I can't install my newly swapped 17" rims because it's scrapping against the front coil springs. I planning to change the wheel studs to extra long one's and put a 1'1/2 inch spacer. The problem is I don't know where to buy those extra long studs (I could use some advice on shops who have this kind of studs tnx). Can I instead use SUV studs and have it resized at a machine shop? Is this safe? Is there other way of doing this??? By the way my ride is Gallant '88 SS (boxtype-GL body)

tnx in advance and more power!

I guess the problem is the mags you got has too much positive offset. It is highly risky to put those ultra long studs just to correct a wrong set of mags. To correct a wrong with a wrong is dangerous especially with your steering. True, they use spacers, but I'm not sure if the specialty mag and tires supplier can give you a perfect extended bolts for you. What they do to European cars with 18s,19s,20s, is that they do put in special adapters to make the mags "ride" on the studs while the plate "rides" on the hub. Very exacting and can be quite expensive unless you know a good machine shop to fabricate the adapters for you. I would suggest, if you can find adapters made for the 96 accords and 95 galant VRs, they may work. You can try contacting Makna Marketing, they might be of help to you.
