What is the benefit of having engine overhaul? Or is it actually beneficial? My engine is consuming up too much oil, I'm just wondering if an overhaul will fix this?

Dear Memphis,
yes it will benefit you a lot and the environment as well,however, make a double check if its really blow by or pumping oil. It may just need a simple top overhaul iand valve seal replacement if it eats oil. Get a second opinion. If the car smoke white during acceleration,the engine piston rings are worn. If the oil just leaks in your garage, it might just be a worn out oil seal or engine shaft seal from the flywheel or pulley side. Thanx for writing.
