Thanks for a great auto website which we can rely on with our car problems, my question is regarding WD-40, I use this on my door hinges and everything moving in my passenger compartment and trunk but I don't use it on the engine compartment, Is wd-40 ok to spray on the engine especially the ones that are attached to cables (clutch, gas, etc) so that it will respond smoother? I'm afraid to spray it on any part of the engine because of the warning written on the can, avoiding heat and sparks.....my car is already 10 years old and those moving parts inside the engine compartment really needs a lubricant, please help, thanks.
Jay
The WD40 is a safe product to use anywhere where lubrication is needed. It is thru the warning says avoid exposure to heat. But it evaporates fast. Just avoid spraying it on open flame. Just like smoking, you need common sense to have safety.
