First I'd like to know if there're any new information on the Mini Cooper's availability(grey market or official entry) in the Philippines, prices etc. Same for the Beetle classic Sedan. By the way what are the new Taxation laws? Opel Astras are imported from Europe but costs only slightly more than Japanese 1.6 liter cars. And why is the 1.6L Beetle costlier than an Astra when in all of Europe, Australia....etc, it has the same price as the Astra and top model Corollas & Civics?

Your question is as good as mine. Why is it more expensive? Simple - excise taxes. The Beetles are P1.5m and the Mini Cooper S P1.8m, why? Simple... the dollar conversion rate. Check out C! Magazine available at major bookstores and magazine shops, it will tell you why the Mini, the Beetle and the Astra are so upscale. Thanks for writing.
