How can i upgrade the performance of my 1300 Mitsu Lancer? Does adding a carburetor improve its performance? Any suggestions?

Dear Patrick,
Yes you'll easily add 20 percent more power with a twin side carb but you'll be eating loads of gas. But even if you're eating so much gas, the 1.5 can still wipe you out. I suggest you get a good head porting, shave the deck by 1mm, and get a time gear advance 5 degrees. If ever you'll add a carb, just go single down from a carb of the old chain type saturn solex mikuni type which can be tuned easily. Thanks for writng!
