I'll be buying an Eclipse GST 97 US model with a manual transmission. What parts should I check carefully? How would I know if the turbo unit is working properly? I'm planning to enter it in a transhow so I should be looking for aftermarket parts for upgrading. I know you guys can help me regarding the shops that could help me with it. I also saw your segment about JP De Guzman's car setup, his sound setup was awesome! I forgot which shop had it installed and can you help me on how I could contact them? Hey Arnold,
Always check for signs of white smoke in the turbo. If it does, the turbo could be in Chapter 11. Now check also if the car's turbo boosts at 3000rpm, if it feels slugish, then the turbo piping has a hole leak in the intercooler, clamps and etc...this is a good bargaining position. As for your question on what to do in the show...its up to you. Whether you want porma or sounds would depend on your budget. JP's corolla sound set up costs him more than P200000, that's around 1/4 the price of your car, think about it. Spend it wisely, use the cause and effect reasoning...if you buy this..you'll get this benefit but, what will happen next? Will I still have enough money to buy this? You know what I'm saying, just spend it on your priorities, that's tje main goal. Remember, it's easy to spend, but it's hard to get back that money once you make a mistake.
