I have a recurring problem with my VR6 brakes. I changed all my brake pads lately. After changing them with all original parts, it is producing an awful sound both front and rear. My mechanic worked on it and it comes back after a day. BTW this is a good and trusted mechanic of mine for 16 years. After so many tries, he told me the front brakes need the repair kit since they were damaged during the process of changing the pads, specially the ‘condom kit’. So just to make things easier I decided to buy a good quality surplus brake caliphers. We’ve changed it yesterday. So far no awful sound is being produced until now, but never had a drive for a longer trip though.
Now the rear brakes are the ones producing the sound. Once we did something on the front, the rear would act up vice – versa. My mechanic was suggesting to something so as to re-grease the joints and just find a cap to cover it. I forgot what he calls this process…but I definitely don’t agree. He was contesting this because it is a sealed type one.
I took a second opinion from our company mechanic, he was also telling something about the joint loosing up etc.
I am sick and tired of this recurring problem for three weeks. Can you suggest something...
Thanks!

Yup, you're right, you are in a bad no win situation. I do say that you trust your instincts, if ever you need to bring the car to a brake specialist, do so. It just takes a little more time and patience but it's worth the diagnosis. Remember, you are dealing with your brakes ok? I'd rather have my car breakdown than my brakes or steering fail, right? Think about it. The calipers may need to be cleaned and the rotors would have to be resurfaced, maybe, I mean maybe, that's where tje sound comes from. Now if it's a juderring sound, it may not be the brakes but I think it could be the brake pressure in the front and rear calipers are not being squeezed evenly causing the brake fluid to go back and forth to the front and rear rotors of the calipers. This is a sign that the 2nd line is clogged. Have it cleaned and purged. Even if you have to bring down the whole system, do it. The next time you step on your brakes could be the life you'll save but could be your own. Thanks for writng.
