Hi! We have a Toyota Crown 5M car with an inline 6 cylinder SOHC. Do you have any knowledge of the valve timing specifications for the intake and exhaust valves of this engine. Also, what do you think is the optimum ignition timing and how can we improve fuel economy for this particular vehicle?

The timing marks of the 5m engines can be seen similar to the 4afe engine namely the 16 valve version of the corollas. The valve clearances are hydraulic types. They dont require adjustments. If the wear is too great, you may have to replace the buckets of the tappets.
