Hi Gibbs,
I am a second owner of a 96 RAV4 AT. My problem is that at second gear, the engine seems to get stuck (VERY slowly climbing) starting at 2000 rpm, and I don't feel a change gear. But it will speed up after sometime (i don't feel a change in gears either). This is a problem especially during overtaking or when ascending or when I just want some speed. What could be the problem and where should I get it checked (casa is too expensive for me)?
And just recently, when I step down on the accelerator there is a rattling sound. I distinguished two of them. One is in front of the passenger side. The other one I don't know. Ive also heared this sound on our Spacewagon AT before and a mechanic said that it is the distributor. Can it cause such sound? If not what is it?
Lastly, what could be the knocking sound coming from the right, front wheel? Thanks for the time and patience as always!

Dear ehxrj,
The problem is that your ATF is too low in level..top it off or replace it. The rattling sound is the transmission support, it's worn out...the wheel...I don't know, I have to check it myself. Bring it to the casa and get an estimate of how much and where the problem is. Thnx 4 writing.
