Filter or carburetor?

Hi there,

I have an old Nissan Sentra LEC and it is begging for some more air (I think). I want to upgrade the air intake and I would like to know if I should buy a 900Php worth carburetor (I'm not sure of the spelling) or have an fuel injected type air intake. There is a shop nearby that is offering
1800Php for the intake and an additional 1300Php for a custom adaptor, since the engine is powered by a carburetor.
Joseph

Dear Joseph,

The CA13 engine does lack torque due to air cleaner restrictions in the carburetor. The air cleaner open type is a good investment for a tad bit more power. But just make sure the element is the high quality washable type that really filters out fine dust. The carb is very sensitive to dirt and can ruin your idle and fuel economy if clogged.

Thanx
