Which is which?

Good evening Mr Gibs!

Greetings of peace! Great site you people got here first time ko pa lang dito. Anyway... Ngayon po para sa tanong ko:

My dad is planning to buy a new car in the near future- So far there are 3 possible choices: Honda Civic Vti, Ford Lynx Ghia/Gsi at 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer GLs. All cars are in manual transmission.

As of now my dad's favor rests with honda- thanks to the 6 yr old city that we had that served us without causing any headache. So choice niya is a honda civic. Upon research na laman ko na lamang ang honda sa ibang choices coz of its vtec 3 engine (especially ang oil change every 10000 km na feature- better compared sa 5000 routine change oil reuirement on other cars), ergonomics and roomy interior.... Pero ang ibang choices ko have better quality materials in the interior though not as spacious, and more "creature features" kaysa Civic (especially ang Ford lynx with its back up sensors and standard safety features though its a little ergonomically challenged compared sa CIVIC). The Mitsubishi Lancer also seemed quite promising coz it had a roomy interior though it seemed kinda bulky to me and missed essentials like ABS & EBD. As of now I'm getting kinda confused. I would have suggested a Ford Lynx but what holds me back is the 2 year warranty (2 years lang... Mitsubishi and Honda has 3yrs warranty. would the LYNX be worth the compromise?) The Mitsubishi Lancer would have been a good choice pero it has a low tech engine- no variable valve timing features like the civic which makes it have a weak engine- plus i'd doubt its fuel mileage (<--coz it wasn't tested by motioncars.com. Who knows baka parang F-150 yun pag mag konsumo ng gas. The lynx has a non variable timing engine but it has a DOHC setup and it travels at 9.33 Km/ liter. Better than a VTI-s (7.28 km/L)). The Civic would've been a good choice... But it doesn't have much safety features compared to the competition.

Now considering the ff factors(sorted according to priority): Fuel economy, reliability, safety features, Riding comfort, warranty, and comfort features, Which of the 3 cars would give the most out of the money (overall)?

My gratitude to you for taking your time reading this letter. More power to your site!!!

Dear Roli,

It's hard to recommend which is which. Others like this brand because of so on and so forth. The choice is yours. The Ford Lynx is value for your money but has poor resale value. The Honda Civic has a higher resale value but the engine performance is quite mediocre compared to its predecessor. The Mitsubishi Lancer is good overall but their service isn't up to par compared to others. The choice is yours. If you have a little more money, you might want to add the Toyota Altis to your choices.
