Dear Gibs,
Can denatured alchohol be used as a good engine flush also? How can i use a thinner as a engine
flush? Will it be a better flusher compared to other out in he market?
Mike
The answer is no for both questions. Modern engine oil flushing liquids contain detergent oils which clean the engine without leaving harsh solvents. Since the laquer thinner is a solvent, it is not recommended that you put it inside your engine.
Try to get a good flushing oil which is oil based and not solvent or petroleum based. Note that there are some engine flushing liquids that contain a huge amount of kerosene or is just plain kerosene. Try to avoid these. To be safe, go with the trusted brands.
