Is using diesel engine oil like Delo Gold Multigrade in gasoline engines offer better protection and cleanliness compared to equivalent gasoline engine oils? A trusted machanic told me this and read this in one popular forum in the net.

As for cleaning the engine, the DELO would indeed be able to clean your engine better than your regular oil as it was design to work with diesel engines which have a high amount of soot.
As for offering better protection, this is a very debatable subject. Because tests have to be done before we can actually conclude on this. Theoretically, yes because if it can protect diesel engines, it can protect gasoline engines as well in a slightly better way.
