Taught by Australian-led instructor team headed by Steve Brouggy
The prestigious California Superbike School (CSS) returns this year on February 5-7, 2016 at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga. This is the school's third year, taught by Australia-based CSS instructors, led by Steve Brouggy.
The school offers a step-by-step bike racing skills program, based on the principles of its founder, motorbike racing guru Keith Code, in 1976. Lessons are offered in four levels, ranging from introductory skills (Level 1) to professional one-on-one coaching (Level 4). Levels are broken down into five classroom and practical sessions. The school aims to provide an ideal instructor-to-student ratio of 5:1. Due to the overwhelming response from students, the school is now alloting three days to accommodate clients. A total of 54 slots are available. In lieu of the increasing number of participants, BMW has doubled the number of BMW training bikes from seven in the 2015 program to 14 for this year’s event, though they encourage participants to bring their own.
Students that graduate from the program will be given certificates and will be allowed to take successive levels in the future. Level 4 graduates can retake the class if so desired.
CSS has been brought to the country with the help of Tuason Racing School, through its partner, James Aro, and BMW Motorrad. The school is open to riders of all brands of motorcycles. To participate, it only requires that riders come in full racing-spec protective gear, that their bike pass a safety inspection, and that it is a manual transmission.
Besides the valuable lessons offered at CSS-Philippines, BMW Motorrad Philippines will be sending three lucky participants to a CSS training center in any part of the world as a bonus for participating in this year’s training event scheduled . The promo is open to participants who bought brand new BMW S1000RR super sports bikes for this year’s riding training program. The raffle prize includes a free plane ticket, bike use on the track, and four-night hotel accommodation for either California or New Jersey training venues, depending on availability.
This year’s event sponsors include Foilacar, C! Magazine, Clean Fuel, Pirelli Tires and Euro Monkeys.
Philip “Pipoy” Ang of Pirelli Motorcycle Tires Philippines is offering a 30 percent discount for every purchase Pirelli tires for the CSS event.
