New bikes replace the ER-6 series

Kawasaki Motors Corporation recently unveiled the 2017 Ninja 650 and the Z650 naked sports which will replace the ER-6f sportsbike and ER-6n naked sports.

With the 649 cc DOHC eight-valve parallel-twin derived from the ER-6 bikes, Kawasaki claimed that both motorcycles produce an output of 68 PS at 8,000 rpm and 65.7 Nm of torque. Also, both engines benefit from electronic fuel injection (EFI) along with twin dual valve 36mm throttle bodies.

 The Kawasaki Z650

Both machines feature dual-piston calipers equipped with 300 mm metal discs at the front and a single 220 mm disc at the back, with Bosch anti-lock brakes.

The Kawasaki Ninja 650 comes in at 193 kg. Meanwhile, the Z650 weighs less at 187 kg. Both are specified with a 790 mm seat height.

For the Ninja 650, only one color will be available, the Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) livery which combines black and green. The Z650, on the other hand, is available in four hues; Pearl Flat Stardust White with Metallic Spark Black, Candy Lime Green with Metallic Flat Spark Black, Metallic Flat Spark Black with Metallic Spark Black and Metallic Raw Titanium with Metallic Spark Black.
