2002 CIK Asia Zone Karting Championship 1st Leg
The first two rounds of the newly established CIK/FIA Asia Zone Karting Championship went under way last Aug. 3 and 4 at the Carmona Racing Circuit.
The fourth leg of the Shell Super Karting Series was held last May 11 and 12 at the Carmona Circuit in Cavite.
The second round of the Shell Super Kart Series had a very good turnout as the grids for all classes were packed and the traction on the track was very good making a challenging race.
The weekend of Feb. 23-24 marked the first round of the 2002 Shell Super Karting Series in the Carmona Circuit.
The day was hot although there were gray clouds threatening to pour down some rain. But it continued that way for the rest of the day as the hot and humid conditions made the race even hotter as karters fought on for top positions as the series runs to its last few races.
