Team McLaren Honda slated for 2015 season

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Announced today that it will be participate once again in the FIA Formula One F1 World Championship in cooperation with McLaren starting the 2015 season.

Honda will be in charge of developing, manufacturing and supplying of power unit, including the energy recovery system and the 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine to adapt to the new F1, which has already begun developing the engines at its R&D facility in Tochigi, Japan.

Meanwhile, McLaren will be developing and manufacturing the chassis, as well as the management of the new team, McLaren Honda.

The McLaren-Honda partnership rekindles the most dominant partnerships in motorsport history when the team won eight world championships and 44 grand prix during the years 1988 and 1992.
