Premium interior care products put to the test
Having a clean car isn’t just about washing and waxing it, maintaining a clean interior is equally important. Or sometimes even more important, because that’s where we are when we drive or ride in our cars. We recently got to try two interior care products from German specialist SONAX - the Xtreme Interior Cleaner and the Xtreme Leather Care Foam.
SONAX Xtreme Interior Cleaner
The Xtreme Interior Cleaner was developed for hygienic cleanliness in the car with a powerful formula to remove stubborn stains and neutralize unpleasant odors. It is designed to work on plastic, and vinyl interior trims, upholstered seats, and roof linings. Unpleasant odors like cigarette smoke and animal smell are also removed in the process, leaving a clean fresh smell.
Dust off or vacuum the surface to get rid of loose dirt and dust. Spray the product onto the stained surface and rub with a sponge, brush, towel or microfiber cloth until the dirt or stain is removed. You’ll see the stain come off and stick to your sponge or cloth.
Wipe with a damp microfiber cloth.
You may have to repeat the process for 'older' stains. But usually it comes off with just one treatment. The infused deodorizer also takes care of the 'old car' smell. But an extra spray or two of SONAX Car Breeze can do even more.
SONAX Xtreme Leather Care Foam
The Xtreme Leather Care Foam is infused with their patented Nano Pro technology designed to clean, maintain and restore leather colors. It also contains UV protection, waterproofs and protects against re-soiling.
The product is quite easy to use and self explanatory. Simply start off by dusting off or vacuuming the surfaces to remove loose dirt and dust. Sparingly spray the Leather Care Foam onto dry leather and spread with a microfiber cloth, rubbing until the dirt is removed.
Once dry, you can polish the surface with the dry part of the cloth or you can also use a separate dry cloth.
As evidenced by the removal of stains in the lighter orange-colored portion of the seats, the product worked as it was supposed to and leather felt smoother and softer after. It also left a leather scent afterwards. The whole process took no more than 30 minutes for the whole car.
If you do find the leather scent too strong, give your carpet or floor mats are spray or two of SONAX Car Breeze.
